Ham Radio operator looks for inspiration.   Sometimes inspiration comes from others who comment on your work as a painter or photographer, I took these pictures a few months ago in a park that I live close to, many people commented and some had ideas of what the pictures reminded them about, some seeing that they are Japanese cherry blossom said the pictures remind them how brief our summers can be.

One lady wrote back and said the picture showing the gate reminded her of a secret garden she had visited a number of years ago which I thought was very interesting.

These cheery blossom blooms only lasted a few weeks before the flowers fade and we no longer see the finest that nature can produce, I always have my camera with me because the opportunity to capture such interesting flowers has a brief window, be prepared when you go out for a walk you never know what nature will throw up.

I spent some time working as a fireman this gave me the inspiration to plan a painting showing firemen at work with their appliances.

Taking photographs is also inspiring and highly creative, photography is an art form in its own right, however, many artists use photographs as reference material, I am not an exception to this rule and enjoy taking pictures.

Photographing your own area and beauty spots is a starter for those reading this blog and wondering what in your art should you concentrate on doing, I have put up a few pictures on my blog with the intention of painting them someday, many have become popular pages in their own right and I have received some interesting comments from readers.

Looking at old master paintings and their techniques is another great way to get inspired, you needn't do the whole work but why not consider doing a small portion of an old master painting, try to get the color match as near as possible.

I hope you have enjoyed the few pointers I have given you on this page of how to get inspired, please feel free to sign up to receive notifications of my latest posts.
